It has become a designated hit with the people who bill themselves as cool (you know who you are). They roamed the guest rooms, closets and kitchens of West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont Hotel one weekend last month in hopes of bumping into a fetching yet affordable photograph or painting by a still-undiscovered artist. The Gramercy International Contemporary Art Fair comes to L.A. once a year (it holds big ones in New York, too) as an alternative for young collectors to the established art world’s lofty prices and snubbiness.
