One of the hottest issues in the city may die a quick death at Wednesday’s City Council meeting. A new council more sympathetic to residents against the proposed beach trail will consider scrapping the plan.
The proposed trail would run parallel to railroad tracks along city beaches. Backers say it would make the beach more accessible for recreational activities and make crossing the tracks safer. The council also will consider adopting a plan that would focus solely on railroad safety.
The council meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 100 Avenida Presidio. Information: (949) 361-8200.
