Government Relieved Ocalan Case Closed

The Italian government declared the case of Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan closed, saying it had dealt with a tricky matter in exemplary fashion. But Turkey slammed Italy for allowing its most wanted fugitive to leave the country a free man and vowed to pursue the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party chief wherever he went. The Italian government said Saturday that Ocalan had left Italy.
