The San Francisco 49ers have promoted defensive back coach Jim Mora--the son of Indianapolis Coach Jim Mora--to defensive coordinator.
Mora, who joined the 49ers in 1997, replaces John Marshall, who left to become defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers and former 49er coach George Seifert.
