The Newport Beach parent company of Southern California Bank and Santa Monica Bank reported second-quarter net income of $8.9 million, or 42 cents a share, which included a one-time charge of $1.9 million for litigation costs. Net income for the 1998 second quarter was $9.1 million, or 43 cents a share.
