Senatorial Gas

I would like to thank the Times for publishing a recipe (Culinary SOS, July 7) for the Senate Navy Bean Soup. Not only is the recipe appealing, but it goes a long way toward explaining the immense reservoir of Senatorial gas. Now, my question is, what else is added to the House recipe?
