Former Angel pitcher Clyde Wright filed a breach of contract suit against Joseph Candella, president of TASC, Inc., and Senior Systems Technology, on July 16, Brad Sheridan, Wright’s attorney, said.
According to Sheridan, Candella had contacted Wright about having the five Angel pitchers who have thrown no-hitters sign 25,000 baseballs and divide $1 million in return.
In the suit, Wright is asking for the $25,000 he is out of pocket for making arrangements, plus his share of the $1 million.
He was expecting to receive $163,500 for his participation.
Wright said he had contacted Nolan Ryan, Mike Witt, Bo Belinsky and Mark Langston about signing the baseballs.
