* American Express Co. said its chief financial officer, Richard Goeltz, will retire. It didn’t name a replacement. “After more than 25 years of serving in senior financial positions with a number of large companies, Richard has decided to retire from corporate life,” American Express Chairman and Chief Executive Harvey Golub said in a letter to employees. The New York-based company said Goeltz, 57, who joined American Express in 1996, will stay to help search for a successor.
