Pedestrian Killed by LAPD Squad Car

LOS ANGELES — A 78-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a Los Angeles police squad car, police said Thursday.
Police said Tran Ngo of Los Angeles stepped from behind a parked car on Washington Boulevard near Kingsley Boulevard about 8:55 p.m. Wednesday and was struck. He was not in a crosswalk.
Ngo died at the scene.
An investigation is underway, police said.
