Beginning this fall, Orange Coast College will offer a program in entertainment technology designed for students in theater arts and fashion departments. The program will train students for such entry-level positions as lighting technicians, scenery carpenters and costume dressers.
The new program was established by an industry advisory committee consisting of representatives from such entertainment entities as Disney, Knott’s Berry Farm and regional and community theater companies. Although the program is offered in some universities, Orange Coast is one of just a handful of community colleges participating in the program.
