The City Council, by a 3-2 vote with Councilmen Harold R. Kaufman and Wayne Rayfield dissenting, approved a monthly $620 pay increase, an additional $600 in optional health benefits and a $275 car allowance. The actual pay increase will not take effect until after the November 2000 election. However, the health benefits and car allowance could take effect after a mandatory second vote, possibly next month. The council also approved a monthly $50 car allowance, salary of $125 and $200 in health benefits for Planning Commission members. Information: (949) 248-9890.
