The city has agreed to pay a consulting firm $26,438 for a study that would determine how efficient it would be to consolidate fire services with three other Orange County cities. The City Council recently approved the city’s share of the costs. David M. Griffith & Associates, a Burlingame, Calif., group, will conduct the the study for Garden Grove, Buena Park, Westminster and Stanton. The cities’ managers used a formula for the costs based on population. An ad hoc committee comprising City Council members will meet again Aug. 17 to discuss the latest phase of the fire study.
