The city will update plans for their three-event Fourth of July celebration, termed the “Weekend of Historical Fun,” at tonight’s council meeting. Dedication ceremonies will be held July 3 for the Costeau Pit Historical Site at Costeau Park, where numerous marine mammal fossils have been found, and the Juan Avila Adobe on Alicia Parkway, one of the oldest adobe houses in the region. A Bad to the Bones 5K, starting at Beckenham Park, also will be held July 3. The holiday event will feature a parade, game and food booths, and fireworks at Laguna Hills High School.
