What’s happening the next few weeks:
* The 60-painting exhibition “Francis Bacon: A Retrospective” goes on display Saturday at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, in Lincoln Park near 34th Avenue and Clement Street. Open Tuesdays-Sundays, 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. $7; $5, age 65 and older; $4, ages 12-17; free for children younger than 12. Ends Aug. 2. Also on display through Sept. 19 is “Claes Oldenburg: Prints and Multiples,” featuring 20 of the artist’s prints. (415) 863-3330.

* The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art presents a major survey of work from media artist Bill Viola, June 25-Sept. 12. * The 23rd San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival runs June 17-27. The opening film is Jim Fall’s comedy “trick,” and the closing night film will be the U.S. premiere of “Show Me Love,” a story of young lesbian love from Sweden.
