Bomb Trial Money Shifted to Storm Aid

Gov. Frank Keating signed a bill to divert $1.2 million from the planned murder trial of Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry L. Nichols to a fund to help victims of last month’s deadly tornadoes in Oklahoma. The move comes amid controversy over attempts to try Nichols on state charges and have him face the death penalty. Nichols has been convicted in federal court and is serving a life sentence.
