Residents who constitute the planning committee on the city’s large Town Centre project received more information on the hotel that will be part of the development. Project director Kevin Clarke spoke at Friday’s committee meeting about the 140-room hotel that is planned for the site at El Toro Road.
“The hotel will be frequented by businesspeople in the area for two or three days,” committee chairwoman Jackie Carey said. “There will be no long-term visitors.”
The 253,000-square-foot project also will feature a restaurant and office and retail space. The committee will present its report at the June 23 City Council meeting. That’s when the council is scheduled to decide on a site plan, hotel permit and zone change for the project.
