The community may have to pay more for trash collection to help offset increased contract fees with the city’s disposal company. A public hearing will be held during the City Council’s meeting Tuesday. If the step is approved, residents would pay $14.71 per month for trash collection. Commercial rates would rise $1.24, to $96.34 per month. City officials proposed the rate increase because of an increase in the cost of the city’s new contract with Placentia Disposal Inc., the collection company, according to city documents. The council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 401 E. Chapman Ave.
