Rafael Carmona, who had to come out of Saturday night’s 15-11 loss to San Francisco, was put on the 15-day disabled list by the Seattle Mariners because of a strained right triceps.
The Mariners, who came out of the longest nine-inning game in Kingdome history with a staff ERA of 6.10, recalled right-hander Aaron Scheffer from Tacoma of the Pacific Coast League. Scheffer had a 1-2 record with a 1.42 ERA in 12 games.
