Reading, writing and arithmetic will no longer end when the school day is over for selected students at four elementary schools. Thanks to a $1.7-million grant given to the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District by the U.S. Department of Education, low-income students at Glenview Elementary, Morse Elementary, Topaz Elementary and Tynes Elementary schools will have after-school options.
The grant will help as many as 100 students in third to sixth grades improve their reading, math, science and technology, and study skills.
