What’s happening the next few weeks:
* Uptown Downtown ARTown, Reno’s annual summer arts festival, is July 1-31. The nation’s largest arts festival, it includes 200 visual and performing arts events and drew 71,000 people last year. Diablo Ballet, the Area 51 Dance Company, Cubanismo, San Jose Taiko and Zakiya Hooker will perform at Wingfield Park, University of Nevada, Reno, campus and other locations. * The Nevada Museum of Art is hosting, in conjunction with Uptown Downtown ARTown, “Alphonse Mucha: The Spirit of Art Nouveau” July 10-Sept. 26. Mucha is one of the best-known decorative artists working in Paris at the turn of the century, and this is the first traveling exhibition--180 paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures--of his work since 1921.
