A power outage in mid-Ventura on Friday afternoon knocked out electricity to 1,940 customers, Southern California Edison officials said.
The outage occurred about 1:30 p.m. and affected customers between Main Street and the Ventura Freeway and Ventura and Chrisman avenues, said Nancy Williams, Edison’s region manager of public affairs.
By 5:30 p.m., power had been restored to all but 34 customers, Williams said.
The cause of the outage had not been identified Friday night, but Edison employees were inspecting underground power stations, Williams said.
There was no estimated time when power would be restored to the remaining customers, she said.
