Fireworks Stands to Open at Noon

Fireworks go on sale today in Fillmore, the only place in Ventura County where fireworks can be sold legally.
Two dozen stands along Highway 126 will open starting at noon. Sales will continue through July 4. Most of the stands are operated by local civic groups, which use the proceeds to fund their organizations’ activities.
Fireworks bought in Fillmore must be used there and should be handled with care and kept away from children, fire officials cautioned.
