FOUNTAIN VALLEY

The Police Department is accepting applications for its third Community Police Academy, a 12-week training course for residents and business owners. The academy teaches members of the community how the Police Department works and what they can expect when they call for service. During the academy, participants also will tour the police station, meet officers and watch demonstrations. The classes will be Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. starting Sept. 1.
