Finding Jobs for Veterans Emphasized This Month

California Employment Development Department offices in Ventura County are placing special emphasis on finding jobs for veterans during May, Veteran Appreciation Month.
“Some veterans have encountered difficulty in securing employment,” said Janet Yamanaka, manager of the Simi Valley EDD office. “For that reason, we take this opportunity to call on local employers, organized labor, veterans organizations and government leaders to ensure that veterans receive the services to which they are entitled and to promote employer interest in hiring veterans.”
Yamanaka urged veterans and local employers to stop by an EDD office to learn more about the services and programs for which they may qualify.
