The City Council this month will consider adopting an ordinance prohibiting residents from leaving garbage or trash containers in public view for more than 24 hours. The council is expected to vote on the measure after a second reading at the May 25 meeting. The first reading passed without objection last month.
Under the proposal, residents cannot leave garbage and containers in public right-of-ways and front or side yards where the containers are visible from public streets for more than 24 hours.
