With a nod to Hollywood, Shakespeare Orange County has dubbed its eighth season Shakespeare in Love and will open the two-play run on June 24 with--what else?--”Romeo and Juliet.” The play, continuing through July 10, will be followed by “Measure for Measure,” July 22-Aug. 7. Both will be directed by the company’s artistic director, Thomas F. Bradac.
Because of popular demand, the company also will stage a single performance on Dec. 18 of “A Shakespearean Christmas,” its stuffed stocking of readings, songs and skits, despite last year’s announcement of the program’s demise after seven seasons.
All performances will be at Chapman University’s Waltmar Theatre. Tickets, $20-$25. Information: (714) 744-7016.
