Churchgoers Pray for Injured Students

Churchgoers in Conyers, Ga., prayed for healing for Heritage High students injured in last week’s shooting, making a particular point to include the 15-year-old suspect. Thomas “T.J.” Solomon Jr. was being held in a youth detention center, charged with wounding six classmates with a rifle. The churchgoers said they saw the teenager not as a violent fiend but as a troubled youth badly needing God’s peace. “What he did was wrong,” the Rev. Martha Wright said at a prayer service at Ebenezer United Methodist Church for those injured in the attack. “But him being wrong doesn’t mean he is bad or devoid of good.”
