California Gasoline Prices Fall Nearly 6 Cents a Gallon

Just in time for that Memorial Day getaway, the average price of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline in California dropped nearly 6 cents to $1.423 a gallon for the week ended Monday, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said. That’s a decrease of about 20 cents from the April 12 peak of $1.624 a gallon. But a year ago, Californians were paying $1.242 a gallon. Nationwide, the average for regular unleaded last week was $1.126 a gallon, down 1.4 cents.
