Airport at El Toro

Mike Gordon, the mayor of El Segundo, needs to get out of his little, laid back-jewel by the ocean once in a while and savor the pleasure of driving Orange County’s freeways. In “Put Airports Where They’re Most Needed” (Commentary, May 17), he signs off his boosterism of commercial airports at El Toro, Ontario, Palmdale, Norton Air Force Base, etc. (in fact, anything rather than expand LAX in his backyard!) with, “Gridlock serves no one.”
Hey, we’ve got gridlock--it’s called the Orange Crush, pal. We don’t need to add a commercial operation at El Toro to that insanity.
