Sharon Davis, the wife of Gov. Gray Davis, read to students in third through fifth grades at Ray M. Schmitt Elementary School and gave them a brief civics lesson as part of a two-hour visit last week.
Invited by school officials, Davis also toured the library and computer lab and visited a first-grade class, where students gave her a book they had made of their drawings.
