* Key matchups: The Devil defense is difficult to penetrate and goalie Martin Brodeur can be a block wall. The Ducks will need to make the most of their opportunities.
* Last year’s series: The Devils won both games. The rallied for a 4-3 victory in the first meeting, then routed the Ducks, 7-1.
* About New Jersey: The Ducks were not the only team to take up Colin Campbell’s time last week. Angered by what he perceived as increased aggressiveness around the crease, Brodeur received a match penalty when he slashed Pittsburgh’s Matthew Barnaby Thursday. After reviewing the tape, Brodeur was not suspended. Barnaby has 17 penalty minutes through three games.
FRIDAY AT TAMPA BAY

* Key matchups: Tampa Bay, which had a league-low 179 goals last season, had scored only two goals in three games this season.
* Last year’s series: The Ducks won both games. including a 5-3 victory in which Stu Grimson scored two goals.
* About Tampa Bay: Of the Lightning’s two goals this season, one was scored by Stan Drulia. It was his first NHL goal since Nov. 23, 1992.
SATURDAY AT FLORIDA
* Starting time: 4:30 p.m.
* Television: Channel 9
* Radio: XTRA (690 AM)
* Key matchups: The Ducks must contain Pavel Bure, who has shown he has recovered from knee surgery. Bure scored 51 goals in 1997-98, his last full season.
* Last year’s series: Florida won the only meeting, 5-2, and outshot the Ducks, 41-27.
* About Florida: The Panthers don’t quit. They scored three late goals to beat the Kings Thursday and rallied from a 2-0 deficit for a 2-2 tie against Detroit Saturday.
