In its Marmonte League opener last week against Agoura, Moorpark turned to an unsung offensive weapon--kicker Brian Orta.
Orta, a senior, kicked field goals of 30, 45 and 48 yards, made two extra points, drove two kickoffs into the end zone and averaged 48.5 yards on four punts in the Musketeers’ 23-0 victory.
Moorpark (2-3) could be a dangerous team in league play. The Musketeers have been making steady improvement under new Coach Tim Lins, formerly at Crespi.

Jimmy Sharp, a junior defensive back at Notre Dame, made his first two varsity interceptions last week against Pasadena but he will be sidelined this week because of a sprained ankle.
