The City Council on Tuesday will decide whether to approve traffic surveillance cameras at six major intersections to catch motorists who run red lights. If approved, Traffic Safety Systems Inc. of Culver City will install the cameras at no cost to the city; part of the fines paid by traffic violators would go toward installation and operating expenses.
City officials have proposed cameras at the intersections of Del Obispo and Ortega Highway, Camino Capistrano and Del Avion, Camino Capistrano at San Juan Creek Road and Stonehill Drive, and Ortega Highway at Rancho Viejo Road.
