Volunteers Sought for Coast Cleanup
Volunteers are needed for the 15th annual Coastal Cleanup Day from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Fifteen sites will be targeted, from Sycamore Cove near Point Mugu to the oil piers on the north county coast.
Coast-walkers who participate in a cleanup day can get free goodies, including sunscreen and lip balm, a gift certificate for a water filtration pitcher, plus a morning stroll on the beach in return for a bag of rubbish removed from the Ventura County shore.
Inland sites in Thousand Oaks and Moorpark are also designated. Registration is not required, but volunteers are encouraged to call (800) CLEANUP to select by ZIP Code the area they are interested in cleaning up. For general information, call 654-3506.
