7 TONIGHT EL MODENA HIGH
Sunny Hills’ new tailback, Brandon Shepard, hit the ground running in last week’s victory over Baldwin Park Sierra Vista. Shepard ran back the opening kickoff 53 yards, scored on an 80-yard punt return and had a six-yard touchdown run in totaling 255 all-purpose yards. El Modena Coach Jason Hitchens said the Vanguards’ defense must tackle better than it did in last week’s loss to Garden Grove, or else Shepard “will have a ton of yardage.” Sunny Hills Coach Tim Brogden said El Modena is “better than they showed,” last week, and he is concerned about the Vanguards’ size.
