Stephanie Berg did not lose a game at No. 1 singles and Harvard-Westlake High routed Thousand Oaks, 16-2, on Wednesday in a nonleague girls’ tennis opener at Thousand Oaks.
Jessica Leck was a 6-2, 6-0, 6-0 victor at No. 2 singles for the Wolverines, who swept the singles.
Buena 13, Newbury Park 5--The Bulldogs won eight of nine singles sets in a nonleague match at Newbury Park.
Yas Fisher, playing at No. 1 singles for Buena (2-0), lost only three games in three sets.
Buckley 13, Valencia 5--Liz Burnside and Rachel Schechter swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2, for Buckley (3-0) in a nonleague match at Studio City Golf & Tennis.
Hillary Zwick and Megan Gelfan swept at No. 3 doubles, and Jessica Shofler swept at No. 1 singles for the Griffins.
MEN’S SOCCER
The Master’s 3, Azusa Pacific 1--Rusty Brooke had a goal and an assist for the Mustangs in a nonleague game at The Master’s.
Eric Pattison had seven saves for Masters (4-4), which outshot Azusa Pacific (2-4-1) by a 20-15 margin.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Westmont 7, Cal Lutheran 0--The Regals (2-2) were outshot, 20-6, and suffered their worst home defeat in their 11-year soccer history.
The score matched Cal Lutheran’s worst soccer defeat, at UC San Diego in 1989.
Ventura 3, Irvine Valley 1--Lacy Hanna had a goal and an assist for the Pirates (4-2-1) in a nonconference match at Irvine Valley.
GIRLS’ GOLF
Moorpark 147, Newbury Park 150--Julie McKenna fired a three-over-par 37 over nine holes for Newbury Park in a nonleague match at Los Robles Golf Course.
Kristin Smith shot 47 for Moorpark (2-1).
