Downey Calvary Chapel 56, Fairmont 6-- Calvary Chapel rushed for 399 in a nonleague game at Glover Stadium.

Fairmont Coach Tom Caffrey went head-to-head against his son Jon, Downey Calvary Chapel’s coach.

“He [Jon] ran the same stuff as we did, but ran them better,” Caffrey said.

Fairmont’s first turnover, a fumble that Carlos Martinez recovered on the Husky 31, led to Calvary Chapel’s initial score.

Quarterback Jaime Banuelos scored on a keeper 3:13 into the game. His second touchdown came on a 26-yard carry put the Grizzlies up 28-0 with 11:51 left in the second quarter. The senior quarterback carried the ball three times for 76 yards.
