Harvard-Westlake Makes Fast Work of San Marino

Harvard-Westlake High’s first-team offense scored on all six of its possessions in a 42-7 victory over San Marino on Saturday at Harvard-Westlake.
Lerato Simelane ran for 137 of his 143 yards in the first half for the Wolverines (3-0), including a one-yard touchdown run on Harvard-Westlake’s first drive and a 13-yard touchdown run 41 seconds before halftime.
He also turned a 30-yard slant pass from Bryan Carlson into a 58-yard second-quarter touchdown.
Carlson completed all five of his passes for 89 yards and ran two yards for a touchdown on the first play of the second quarter.
Luke Hornblower scored the Wolverines’ fourth touchdown on a five-yard run with 2:36 left in the first half.
Aaron Alexander-Bloch ran 39 yards on his first carry for Harvard-Westlake’s final touchdown.
San Marino (0-3) scored with 3:24 left in the third quarter on Briton Burge’s nine-yard pass to Eric Wilson, culminating a 29-yard, five-play which began when Kevin Smith recovered Alexander-Bloch’s fumble on a punt return.
