Mayor Picks 5 Nominees for Library Commission

Mayor James K. Hahn appointed five nominees to the city’s Library Commission late Wednesday, including Encino political operative Lucy McCoy, president of the panel for four years under former Mayor Richard Riordan.
Hahn also nominated Robert Chick, a former Airport Commission president and former husband of City Controller Laura Chick; Cynthia Telles, a doctor at UCLA; Mary Harvey, the wife of comedian Steve Harvey; and E. Allison Thomas, the co-president of the California Women’s Law Center.
The nominees must be confirmed by the City Council.
