State Cracks Down on Group of Nursing Homes
- Share via
Eight nursing homes have been cited for abusing elderly residents and four have been closed or sold to new owners, the state Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
Eight facilities run by Kensett Moyle III in Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino and Tulare counties were cited and fined, and required to make improvements under a settlement approved by Riverside Superior Court.
Required improvements include regular baths for patients, periodic release of restrained patients, and prevention of bed sores and infections. Moyle closed or sold Moyle’s High Desert Convalescent Hospital, Moyle Manor and Moyle’s Sky Harbor Healthcare Center, all in Yucca Valley, and Moyle’s Indio Convalescent Hospital in Indio.
