Smooth Sailing

My husband bought a 24-foot sailboat last May. I told him I wouldn’t go out with him until I could sail the boat back to the dock by myself in case of emergency. I pulled the March 26 “Her World” column (“Special Programs Can Help Women Abandon the Galley”) out of my files and made my reservation for Women’s Sailing Week at the Bitter End Yacht Club in the British Virgin Islands.
Four world-class women sailors and competitive racers taught the classes. Their ability to alter the instruction to fit learning styles until each woman succeeded at her goals was remarkable. In fact, the experience succeeded beyond my wildest expectations.
Thank you for wonderful articles and for this one in particular. SHERI E. ROSS
