In other girls’ basketball games:
Royal 53, Moorpark 50--Ashley Alderton hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to give the Highlanders (13-6, 2-3) a Marmonte League victory at Royal.
Alderton finished with 23 points, including six three-point baskets, and five blocked shots.
Natalia Worth had 23 points for Moorpark (14-4, 3-2), including two free throws with six seconds remaining to tie the score, 50-50.
Ventura 51, Santa Barbara 48--Kelly Fay’s three-point basket with less than three minutes remaining put the Cougars ahead to stay, and Liz Newman added two free throws down the stretch for Ventura (13-4, 2-2) in a Channel League game at Santa Barbara.
Santa Paula 53, Nordhoff 52--Sarah Ruiz had 27 points and six steals and Rachel Kolbeck had 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals for host Santa Paula (12-6, 3-0) in a Frontier League game.
Maria Perry pulled Nordhoff (8-11, 1-2) within 53-52 on a three-point basket with 10 seconds to play. Danielle Rice scored 14 points for the Rangers.
Montclair Prep 63, Pacific Hills 29--Eshaya Murphy had 33 points, 24 rebounds and seven steals for the Mounties (15-0, 4-0) in a Delphic League game at Murphy High.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Channel Islands 53, Hueneme 32--The Vikings, playing their first game since Jan. 5, never recovered from a scoreless first quarter in a Pacific View League game at Channel Islands.
Manny Berrelleza scored 12 points for Channel Islands (5-12, 1-2).
Hueneme (3-8, 0-2) was originally scheduled to play Channel Islands last Wednesday, but the game was postponed after a 17-year-old boy was killed by an Oxnard SWAT team member after taking a Hueneme female student hostage earlier in the day.
Kilpatrick 71, Village Christian 51--Keilon Fortune scored 33 points, including seven three-point baskets, for visiting Kilpatrick (17-1, 3-0) in an Alpha League game.
L.A. Baptist 72, Paraclete 66--Mike Madigan scored 17 points and Brian Sanders added 16, including three of four free throws in the final minute, for host L.A. Baptist (12-4, 2-2) in an Alpha League game.
Matt Marquez scored 28 points for Paraclete (4-10, 1-3).
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Cal Lutheran 70, Whittier 51--Nicole Klein and Katie Placido each scored 14 points for host Cal Lutheran (13-3, 2-1) in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
BOYS’ SOCCER
El Camino Real 4, Granada Hills 0--Jason Lara had two goals and one assist and Ori Adrabi had two goals for the Conquistadores (15-3, 2-1) in a West Valley League game at Granada Hills.
La Canada 7, South Pasadena 0--Bassam Khan scored three goals, Eric Irvine had a goal and three assists, and Kilai Kolar added three goals for the Spartans (11-0-1, 2-0) in a Rio Hondo League game at South Pasadena.
Mike Kotick and Chris Garnic, who split time in goal, recorded their seventh shutout.
Kilpatrick 6, Village Christian 2--Jorge Santillana, Francisco Vargas and Francisco Perales each scored two goals for Kilpatrick (12-3, 2-0) in an Alpha League game at Village Christian.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Kennedy 3, Van Nuys 0--Sophomore Krystal Bernal scored two goals in a Valley Mission League game at Kennedy (8-5, 2-0).
El Camino Real 2, Granada Hills 1--Kori McLaughlin and Megan Porter each scored in a Valley Mission League game at El Camino Real (9-1-1, 3-0).
Buena 4, Dos Pueblos 0--Shameka Alford scored three goals and Brittny McDonald added another for the Bulldogs (16-1-1) in a Channel League game at Dos Pueblos.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
Buena 5, San Marcos 4--Leah Walters scored her second goal on an assist from Amber Stevens with 2:43 remaining in sudden-death overtime to lift Buena (6-5, 1-1) in a Channel League game at San Marcos.
