Riverside Golfer Is Set for U.S. Junior Amateur

Joshua Wooding of Riverside shot 66-67--133 Monday at Woodland Hills Country Club and won a qualifier for the U.S. Junior Amateur championship.
Kevin Na of Diamond Bar (71-65--136) and Phillip Telliard of Riverside (72-66--138) also earned spots in the July 24-28 U.S. Junior Amateur at San Antonio, Texas.
* Na and Anthony Kim of La Quinta have secured berths on the American Junior Golf Assn. West Canon Cup team by finishing among the top eight of the AJGA rankings.
Ina Kim of Encino, Erica Blasberg of Corona and Allison Martin of Bakersfield qualified for the girls’ team.
* Nick Geyer, 13, from Agoura Hills, shot a one-under 69 to win the Optimist International district qualifying tournament Monday at Balboa Golf Course in Encino.
