UC Irvine’s Pat Douglass has been named District 15 coach of the year by the National Assn. of Basketball Coaches.
Douglass, in his fourth year at Irvine, led the Anteaters to a school-record 25 victories and the school’s first Big West Conference regular-season championship. Irvine advanced to the NIT, losing at Tulsa, 75-71, Wednesday.
