John Prine’s songs are as down-to-earth, as lovingly and skillfully crafted and as frequently insightful about the human experience as Mark Twain’s best short stories. They’re also often as funny as Twain’s, as is Prine’s stage banter, which makes his shows as entertaining as they are enriching. He’s at the Sun Theatre in Anaheim with another master storyteller who has even more seniority on the folk-music circuit: Ramblin’ Jack Elliott.
* John Prine, Sun Theatre, 2200 E. Katella Ave., Anaheim. With Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. 8:30 p.m. $37.50 to $47.50. (714) 712-2700.
