King’s Speech Published in Sacred Jewish Format

A national Jewish college organization has published a new version of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech as it might appear as a sacred Jewish text.
Hillel, a network of more than 500 Jewish campus centers, published the speech to coincide with King’s annual birthday celebration, to be observed this year on Jan. 21. The document grew out of a public policy conference in Washington last year, when participants visited the Lincoln Memorial, where King delivered the 1963 speech.
The speech appears as it would in the Talmud, the collection of ancient Rabbinic laws, commentaries and traditions related to the Torah.
