A refugee center at the heart of growing tensions between Britain and France over illegal immigration will be closed by the end of April, French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy announced.
Sarkozy’s statement came after he met with his British counterpart, David Blunkett.

After being named interior minister in June, Sarkozy said he favored closing the center at Sangatte. It will shut down sometime after December, he said.
