Bicyclist Hit by Truck Dies of Head Injuries

A bicyclist riding at night without a helmet or lights died late Thursday as a result of injuries sustained when he was hit in a busy Newhall roadway, officials said.
Juan Rodriguez, 33, of Newhall was struck by a truck about 9:30 p.m. as he entered the intersection of San Fernando Road at Market Street, police said.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead of head injuries at a local hospital.
The truck driver was not cited.
