Huddleston Wins Second in a Row

Tim Huddleston of Agoura Hills won the 50-lap Southern California Auto Club Late Model series feature race Saturday night in front of 5,950 at Irwindale Speedway.

Huddleston led from start to finish to earn his second consecutive win and fifth of the season. Series rookie Scott Youngren finished second, Mike Price was third and Doug McComb fourth.

In the 50-lap Ultra Wheels Super Truck series feature, Cory Fancy of Palmdale was unable to hold off Temecula’s Jim McGill, who took the lead on Lap 39 and held off Joe Herold and Dave Blankenship for the victory.

The race ended with a spectacular piece of driving by Greg Adler, who was pushed into the wall on the backstretch during the final lap and rode the wall with his right-side tires before crossing the finish line in sixth place.

In the 30-lap Vista Paint Super Stock series feature, an eight-car pileup on the first lap forced a reset of the race. That helped Andrew Phipps claim his second consecutive victory; he held off points leader Darren Cheek by more than three seconds.

In the 35-lap Modified 4s feature, Guy Tripp held off series leader Terry Limberopoulos to earn his third victory of the season.
