UCI Names Doshor Dean of Social Sciences School

Barbara Anne Doshor, chair of the Department of Cognitive Sciences at UC Irvine, has been appointed dean of the university’s School of Social Sciences.
Doshor came to UC Irvine a decade ago from Columbia University in New York. She received her bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego and master’s and doctorate in experimental psychology from the University of Oregon. She is an expert on the mechanics of memory retrieval, perceptual learning and attention.
She will begin her new job Sept. 23.
